Surfside Beach

Our Friends Abbey & Cy that we met in Cancun 5 years ago. We see them about once a year and the just happened to be in Little River While we were in Surfside....So we met up for some drinks and catching up! They are a hoot!

We were fortunate to get to spend a whole week at the beach with my mom and dad to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversay (Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!). We rented a house in Surfside Beach @ Ocean Lakes. Normally mom & dad pull their camper down for the summer but with gas prices @ $4 a gallon it was less expensive just to carpool and rent a house. The house was a cute little place with 2 bd/2 bath and it came with a golf cart so we got to cruise around all week. Ocean Lakes is HUGE!! A great place for kids and people watching in general! Everything you need is right within: restaurant, store, putt-putt, gameroom, a huge pool, and even laundry facilities if you are so inclined! Their is even a beach bar within walking distance!! SWEET! Little did we know when making the reservation that we were going to be there for the end of "Bike Week" and most of "Black Bike Week". Let's just say the people watching was "very interesting". Apparentley you can be a size 20 and still wear..........enough said! :-)

One day we went deep sea fishing; the first time for mom and me. As you can tell from mom's picture above she had a fabulous time! Ha! She didn't even put a pole in the water!! But Joel, dad, and I caught several sea bass. It was fun. We ate at some great restaurants, got a lot of sun, and even visited "Brookgreen Gardens" it was very interesting....even if we were the only people there under the age of 70! It was a great trip and we made a lot of valuable memories.. Love you mom and dad.

Joel is tired of digging holes!

As some of you know Joel and I have been doing LOTS of landscaping lately. Last weekend we bought 30 Hostas at the Curb market and a whole bunch of flowers @ the nursery across from Blantyre. Travis has also been hooking us up with some very nice plants. Travis gave us 13 flats of ivy to plant on our bank because WE CANNOT GET GRASS TO GROW! Joel got so tired of digging holes that this is his new approach to planting. Way to go Sweety! P.S. (we need sod honey, PLEASE)

Brenda & Eddie Perry's New Puppy!!

Brenda and Eddie have added a new member to to their family. This is their new puppy and they have named him Harley (in honor of the Harley they lost last year). He is almost 4 months old and absolutely the cutest little puppy in the whole world! Stop by and meet him if you in the neighborhood. Congratluations Guys!

Poor little Drew came to visit the other night and his little toe was poking out of his too small jammies. Last night I think mommy & daddy decided to go ahead and cut the feet out of them before all his toes started poking holes!!! FUNNY!
