More Camping Pictures.

Here are some more pictures from our camping trip. That is Joel on the zip line!! What fun that was. Check out Jeter after playing in the mud....needless to say mommy & daddy were not very happy. The picture of Nikki is of her stealing golf balls out of the return bin! Bad Nikki! Her big brother Lewis made her do it!
I love the picture of my dad and Joel.

Let the camping season Begin!

We took our first camping trip of the season this weekend @ Orchard Lake Campground in Saluda. Joel and I along with Lewis, Meghan, Emma, Drew, Nikki, and some friends of Lewis' from work Chris and Becky and their kids. We had a wonderful view from our sites with the par 3 golf course all to ourselves. Everything was great until......THE RAIN CAME! And then THE MUD CAME!!! Wow, what a mess. WE made the best of it though. Lewis smoked some BBQ and we had a big feast on Saturday night. Mom and Dad came up Saturday evening and stayed. Louise tried to visit but she was there when the monsoon hit and left when she became ankle deep in a puddle. It was a fun weekend. WE played golf, basketball, hit the zipline, climbing wall twister, and anything else we wanted to do. We will have to visit Orchard Lake again later in the season.

Happy Late Earth Day!

April 22nd was Earth Day so Joel and I spent the evening working in the yard and planting. We planted 4 Maple trees, 1 Pussy Willow tree, 20 Dahlias, and 20 Begonias. Let's see how many the rabbits eat!!! They ate every single pansy I planted about a month ago!

Sandra's 45th Birthday

Okay, so I cannot figure out how to flip Brenda and Sandra's picture around so it is not sideways!!! Help me Nancy or Meghan...... Friday April 18 I was invited to Sandra's "estate" to celebrate her 45th birthday. What a blast! We had the best time wandering round the 10,000 sq foot house that Sandra is living in. The views are amazing and the house is just plain AWESOME!! It sits on 60 acres in East Asheville has a pond, outdoor kitchen, exercise room, game room, and a million bathrooms. She is living in the house for her friends until the house sells. The owners had to move to Ohio to care for a sick parent. And with a 2.5 million price tag I don't think Sandra will have to worry about moving anytime soon. The party was fun, I got to meet Brenda's mom Lois (finally), and a lot of Sandra and Brenda's friends. They were all great and alot of fun. Saturday was great too Brenda made a huge breakfast and the three of us just hung out and had some girl bonding time. I love Brenda and Sandra, they are two of the most sincere, caring, and wonderful girls I know. Happy Birthday Sam, thanks for including me in your birthday.

Sleepover!

Last Saturday Joel and I had Abbey, Sydney, and Garrett over for a sleepover. Carolyn and Jessica, and my mom and I were also in attendance. Joel and Garrett were macho men and slept in the camper in the woods up past the house. They had the coolest little campsite set up! I was almost jealous...Thought about raiding the camp and taking it over for the girls!!!
Us girls did OK all on our on! We did facials, ate pizza, watched movies, and Abbey and Sydney did all the above AND a "Broadway Shoe Fashion Show". (My closet still hasn't recovered). We even got a visit my Mary, Kaylynn, and Nancy's cousin. (I am so bad with names!) We all stayed awake until after midnight!! Highly unusual for me anymore. Joel and G got up early and came up to the house and made us all a big hearty breakfast. YUMMY!! Our sleepover was a big success and I think everybody had a good time. Hopefully, Emma can make out next one!

THis is Hilarious for all of us OVER 30!!

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH waysyadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!But now that... I'm over the ripe old age ofthirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.
You've got it so easy!

I mean, compared to mychildhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet . If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter .with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If youwere on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was!
It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drugdealer,a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games withhigh-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600!With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'.
Your guy was a littlesquare! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win.
The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died!
Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there was no such thing as stadium seating!
All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and couldn't see, you were just screwed!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then thatwas only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either!
You could only getcartoons on Saturday Morning.

Do you hear what I'm saying!?!We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire ..imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thingand shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,The over 30 Crowd
