After another December of hoping for a White Christmas.....We got the light dusting of snow but not on Christmas morning. On Wednesday, December 26th we awoke to find a snow covered landscape. Yes, the day I had to go back to work. Oh well, it was pretty while it lasted. Maybe we will see some more snow soon....

Party on the Mountain
On Saturday December 15th Joel and I hosted our annual Christmas Party; only this year we added the awesome element of live music! Sam Anderson, who is a very talented singer/songwriter, played and sang for us all evening. Visit Sam's website @ http://www.samanderson.net/ What an awesome musician AND person! He has the best stories, I could listen to him all day. You can pick up his cd "Acoustic Christmas" on his website. It is my ABSOLUTE favorite Christmas CD.
Thanks to all our wonderful friends and family members in attendance. We are still enjoying goodies brought by everyone. Oh yeah, and all the wine!!!!!!! It was great to see everybody and we love you each and every one.
Merry Christmas...love, Joel & Denisa

An Edisto Thanksgiving
The Lauffer klan spent Thanksgiving On Edisto Island this year. The weather was great, well the first few days were anyway. It was sunny and 80 degrees! The rest of the week was cooler but still nice. We got to see the Edisto Christmas parade which was a lot of fun. I think the kids really liked the candy everyone was throwing out!
The low country boil we had for Thanksgiving dinner was good and we all wore tie-dyed shirts that we made ourselves! Most memorable moment for me: The dark jungle bike ride home from Whaley's with our "leader" Nancy!! That was great!

I'm working on it
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We were away with Joel's family last week for Thanksgiving. The whole Lauffer Klan (except Erica) went to Edisto Beach for the week. It was great and I will tell all about it in my next post. I am currently downloading the pictures from the trip so stay tuned and check back soon!

Girls Night In
Joel and John went fishing for the weekend so I tool the oppurtunity to have a "Girl's night in"! We started off with a candle party with Jessica that was a lot of fun. Shame on you "candle party haters" that were too chicken to come!! Ha! Ha! We had lots of great food and also a few adult beverages. Afterwards we all put on our pj's, had a slumber party and watched movies. It was a lot of fun. And thanks to my mom who came up and spent the whole weekend and helped me get things ready for the party and then clean up. Thanks Mom, love you lots.

Uncle Jimmy

This my Uncle Jimmy, my mom's brother. He is in the final stages of throat cancer. He was diagnosed 2 years ago and we thank God for the time that we have had with him while he battled this disease. He has been a very strong and brave man throughout the chemo and radiation treatments. Jimmy and his wife, Louise, have 5 kids (my cousins!) Annette, Jim, Glenda, Rena, and Cindy. 5 grandchildren; Stephanie, Brandon, Brittany, Cody, Brent and 3 great-grandchildren whose names I am ashamed to say I don't know. We love him very much and that is all I can type right now.....sorry.

What did we do before camera phones??
I took this picture while driving out 191 last night. I was very late for the"Festival of Holidays" at Biltmore Baptist Church. But in my mad 60 mile an hour fury to get to the church I saw this gorgeous sight and realized "Hey Denisa! Slow down and enjoy this gorgeous sunset". So I slowed just enough to snap this picture.......

Lazy Sunday
Well today was the first day after the time changed and Joel and I celebrated by doing pretty much nothing all day but napping! We did venture out in the afternoon to visit Grandma and Louise. It was great becuase Mary, Nancy, and Jeff were there too! We talked about what we are doing at the beach this year.....Looks like it is going to be a tie-died Thanksgiving!
